Michael Granville

Exhibition Director  at Illustrative Voices

I identify as an “Artletic” person. My creative space is in the zone that I find myself in while running around the track or smearing my fingers with oil pastels on a canvas.

As an All-American athlete (UCLA Track and Field), I travelled the country and met people out of my normal social bubble. The experience of having teammates from different religions, genders, identities, and nationalities gave me the courage for activism and love for people of all backgrounds.

Currently  I am the Exhibition Director for Illustrative Voices, an Art Education non-profit empowering all to visually express narratives of, and bring awareness to, social inequities. I have curated our online and in-person exhibitions around social justice awarenesses about Identity, Love, Bullying, and Privilege.

Colors in motion is my go-to flow when creating art. To quote one of my favorite artists, Michael Kilgore, “ In the creation of my art, I seek the truth of whatever I am feeling and that becomes the art. I believe the art flows through me and at times, I am not in control… the art controls me.”
